Our First Schengen Visa Application Experience in Dubai

To be very honest, the Schengen visa application procedure sounded too daunting for us before that we tried to avoid it as much as possible. But after exploring Asia for years and a magical visit to Morocco back in 2016, we were suddenly left to wonder what else could be there for us to discover beyond our comfort zone. At that point, it really felt like a European vacation was a natural progression for us. So last year we decided to finally give it a try. We applied for a Schengen visa for the very first time and after a gruelling wait, we fortunately got a positive stamp.

As a first timer, I had a million questions in my head all throughout the application period. I still remember how much painstaking research (which meant countless Googling) I did before getting that coveted visa, so I would like to share with you how our experience went. Maybe this post could help someone who's also in the process of applying for a Schengen visa in Dubai.

French novelist Gustave Flaubert probably said it best ― “Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world,” and I couldn't agree more. The thing that I love most about traveling is the humility it gives you. When you go out for an adventure, you realize just how vast the world is and how insignificant your silly problems are. On top of that, I'd like to think that it has also deeply strengthened our bond as a couple.

Travel Diaries: Autumn in Amsterdam

It's been months since we spent autumn in Amsterdam, but until now I could still remember those sharp pangs of despair hitting us hard the moment we realized it was time to go back home. Everything about our first trip to Amsterdam was totally bonkers (in a good way of course) and it sure is one of our most memorable vacations to date!

Travel Diaries: Spending Holy Week in Armenia

Armenia has always been on our wanderlust radar for years. I think it was after a memorable trip to its neighboring country Georgia in 2013, when we actually started to set our sights on this former Soviet republic. Until now, it still boggles my mind how despite the many times we've attempted to visit Armenia before, none of our incessant planning and wishful thinking ever seemed to materialize. But here we are five years later, and I'm so glad to say that we finally did it. The best part? This trip to Armenia was every bit as beautiful as I have imagined it to be.

Dubai Snapshots: Desert Safari Experience

Every visit to Dubai will never be complete without a Desert Safari experience. From an exhilarating dune bashing ride and that obligatory photo with a sweeping sand dune backdrop, to riding a camel and watching restless Tanura and belly dancers as you drink your third cup of hot tea, it's really one of those top touristy things you just have to do when in Dubai.
