Leaving on a jet plane

All my bags are (not) packed and I'm (not) ready to go... Seriously, is packing the worst part of traveling or what?

Currently in the middle of packing for my month-long vacay in Manila. I can't believe I'm already leaving in three days! Sadly, things aren't looking so good right now and I'm not even sure if I can manage to fit everything inside my luggage. I'm in such a huge mess! There's just way too many stuff I want to bring with me for this trip and I really think my excitement is getting the best of me.

I'm like the worst packer ever! I don't think I'll ever be good at this. Been putting this off for so long and now I'm super pressed for time. How some people manage to do this like it's the most natural thing in the world will forever be a mystery to me. I really envy those people who got things all figured out before even starting. But I'm hoping I get to finish this tough chore real soon though. Still got tons to do before I leave.

Any tips for a wannabe Little Miss Packer? My mind is all over the place here. :(

  2. Haha oh my gosh. So I am decent at packing for trips, if I give myself enough time (which is rare). I usually just pack things by outfits. Pick a few color schemes so that I can wear the same jewelry & shoes with multiple outfits. And then count what I have and if I have too many outfits, take a few out. A month is a while though so I suppose that may not apply as well. Personally, I don't trust airlines when it comes to check-in luggage, so I never bring check-in luggage unless absolutely necessary. Even for my study abroad programs for several months. I just have a really fat carry-on. Haha. And then I buy things like shampoo and soap over there, and use it up or leave it behind...

But when it comes to packing everything to move (like I'm supposed to be doing now)... I am totally terrible at it!!

All that aside, have a great trip!!!

  5. I adore packing. Just love making those lists, putting music and drinking coffee while packing. To have fun, I spend a lot of time planning outfits, my reading list and fun to-do-list (implying to-bring-list).

And by the way, that picture is stunning, I really love the colors of those luggages!

  6. haha the key is to plan everything out :) think about each type of weather you might experience in the one month and work your outfits around them. especially think about how you might incorporate items from one outfit into another (eg a cardigan from one outfit involving shorts to another outfit involving shorts). then you will have the basic minimum. also consider what activities you might be doing (eg going to beach, long walks) and what you would wear for those events.

I guess in essence my approach is to start off with practicality in mind rather than fashion (ie trying to decide which of your cutest outfits you could show off over there), and then when you have the basics you can embellish a little :)

  9. I'm constantly packing up to go back and forth between college and home. When it comes to saving space, rolling up all your clothes, rather than folding, can save you tons of luggage space! It's the only way I can fit everything in!
